What the proposed amendment (Issue One) does

● Removes all previous legislative limitations on abortion.

● Provides for unfettered abortion access through all nine months of pregnancy. ● Allows minors to pursue abortions without parental consent.

● Provides legal protections for predatory men who coerce women and girls into getting abortions. ● Allows minors to pursue sex-change surgeries without parental consent.

● Silences the voice of future elected officials from being able to vote on abortion laws.

What happens if the proposed amendment (Issue One) does not pass?

Nothing changes. Every law and every form of existing health care coverage, contraceptives, etc. stays EXACTLY the same.

So why should you Vote No?

Reason #1: To protect the life of the unborn.

As Christians, we believe life begins in the womb. We have a responsibility to protect the lives of these innocent babies from painful late-term and partial-birth assault, including dismemberment.

Reason #2: To stop the attack against young children

Children are called a blessing from the Lord. This amendment is a spiritual and targeted attack against young children. It aims to remove children from the protection of their families and turn them over to the confusion and chaos of the world. The bill also creates legal protections for adults and organizations who coerce young girls into getting abortions and coerce young boys and girls into sex change or “gender affirming” transitions, including irreversible surgeries–all without parental consent.

Reason #3: To protect parental rights.

Issue One is carefully written to usurp the authority of parents to make critical decisions for their children, as has already been demonstrated in states like California. If this bill passes, there is legal precedent for its vague language to be interpreted by the courts as prohibiting parents from having any say on whether or not their minor child has an abortion or undergoes gender transition, including sex-change surgeries.

FAQs:

Question: These sound like extreme measures that won’t really happen, right? Answer: Wrong. The conclusions drawn above are not derived from theory. We’ve already observed the outcome of this legal language as interpreted by judges in states like California.

Question: Does the amendment remove the right to access an abortion? What about contraceptives? Answer: No. The amendment does not change any existing laws or healthcare coverages in Ohio.
