Padre Pio Prayer Group

Dear Fellow Parish Bulletin Reps:  February is dedicated to the Holy Family. The Holy Father’s Intentions for February:  Listen to the Migrants’ Cries:  We pray that the cries of our migrant brothers and sisters, victims of criminal trafficking, may be heard and considered.  Feasts for February:  Presentation of the Lord (2/2), Blaise (2/3), Agatha (2/5), Josephine Bakhita (2/8), Our Lady of Lourdes (2/11), Valentine, Cyril and Methodius (2/14), Chair of St. Peter (2/22).

While the first 25 days of February fall during Ordinary Time, the remaining days of February are the beginning of Lent (2/26/2020).  February is rich in liturgical activity, containing the Presentation of Our Lord (bridges between Christmas and Easter).  This feast day (2/2)  shows Christ as “the Light of Revelation to the Gentiles who will save His people from their sins.”  Candles, symbolizing Christ, our Light, will be carried in procession this day, as will be the Paschal candle during the Easter Vigil liturgy.
Pope Francis’ calendar for February include the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, Holy Mass with members of the Institute of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (2/1), and Spiritual Exercises for Roman Curia (2/18-2/23/2020).  “Once I take a soul on as a Spiritual Child, I take on their entire family as my Spiritual Children.” ~ St. Padre Pio.
May we respectfully request that you continue your active support of our monthly Padre Pio Prayer Group gatherings by inserting the following invitation in your parish bulletin: “Join our Padre Pio Prayer Group (PPPG-CK) each 2nd Saturday (2/8/2020) monthly for the 8 AM Mass, Rosary, Discussion, Adoration @ Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623.  For example, we were blessed to welcome a new devotee from Mansfield, Ohio at our January PPPG-CK meeting, who travelled two (2) hours to be with us. Similarly, we certainly invite everyone within our Diocese of Toledo parishes and guests to join us for prayers for healing and peace.  This invitation includes recitation of the Holy Rosary daily, as requested by Our Lady of the Rosary @ Fatima, and exemplified by St. Padre Pio.  Access: ‘www.pppg.org‘ for info.  Contact Magdalena Skiles (419.356.4208) or email @ ‘magdalena@magdalenaskiles.com‘.
