August is considered the ‘transitional’ month in our seasonal calendar. We begin to wind own from our summer travels, vacations, fall festivals, harvest time.
The Church offers us this month vivid examples of perseverance. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the most perfect example of Christian perseverance, but she is also our advocate in heaven where she is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. “Our Lady has never refused me a grace through recitation of the Rosary.” – St. Padre Pio.

Padre Pio answered in enchanting simplicity: “The Lady came here because she wanted to cure Padre Pio… She also came because of Padre Pio’s ardent devotion and his prodigious recovery would rouse in Italy and in the world a fervent increase of love and confidence towards the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”
