Padre Pio’s devotion to the Sacred Heart manifested itself in the mystical union, in a faithful imitation, a loving reparation and confident prayer. Padre Pio’s union with the Heart of Jesus was much more intense during the celebration of Mass, when he fully participated in the Passion of the Lord, which was three-fold: Passion of the Body, Passion of Honour, Passion of the Heart. He relived this triple Passion of Jesus, but in a special way the Passion of the Heart, his sentiments, anguish, and his agony.
