November 13, 2018, The Portage Valley Federation of Lutheran Men and Pastors Fall Meeting.: Our fall meeting will be held at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S College Dr., Bowling Green. Our special speaker for the evening will be Judge Matthew Reger. His topic will be “A View from the Bench”. The fellowship hour will begin at 6:30pm with the fellowshipness meeting beginning at 7:15 pm. The offering from the evening will be applied to the renovation of the Pfeiffer House, a place that will house family and friends visiting residents at the Luther Home of Mercy. This year’s Christmas play will be: “It’s a Beastly Christmas” Play practice will be held during the Sunday School hour on December 2, 9, and 16 with the play to be held during worship on December 23. YOGA CLASS OPEN TO ALL on Mondays, 7 p.m., in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Cost is $5 per person.
Honduras Medical Brigade presentation: Join us for a presentation about the John Carroll University May 2018 medical brigade on 11/11/18 at 10:30 in the fellowship hall. Your overwhelming generosity helped purchase $10,000 of medical supplies and filters which were distributed that week in Honduras. The presentation will include pictures from the medical brigades and the household filter distribution as well as pictures from the villages that were visited. We will be serving Honduran coffee that I brought back with me.
Sunday, November 18th, the Mission Honduras: 2019 work brigade will be selling oven- to- table casseroles in the kitchen. Menu selections will vary weekly and will be listed in the bulletin. The casseroles will serve 2-4 people and cost $10.00. No need to order ahead- just stop by and pick one up! Pick up times are Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM and Sundays from 10:15-10:45 AM in the kitchen here at Bethlehem. The proceeds from this sale will be used for project costs of the work brigade to Honduras in February 2019. Brigade members include Ron Nabors, Jennifer Schuerman, John Stewart, Matt, and Marlene Meyer, Pat and Norris Hinds, Sue Gerke, Mary Selzer, Katie McKibben, Darla Boyk, Marcus Kreais, and Vicki Seifert. We would love to have a few more join us! Our projects will include building a 1600 sq foot greenhouse to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for the children and students at Sociedad Amigos de Los Niños, updates to the children’s home such as new curtains and tablecloths, helping the teachers prepare classrooms, and distributing water filters.
