Baptisms are held the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 12:45. Baptisms are not held during the Lenten season. Reservations for both must be made at the Parish Office. 419-885-5791.

The Sacrament of Marriage All arrangements are to be made with the Parish Center Office at least six months in advance. All must attend a Marriage Preparation Course. 419-885-5791.

The Sacrament of the Sick Please contact the Parish Office regarding visitation by a parish minister for Communion calls to the homebound, hospital visitation or the Sacrament of the Sick. 419-885-5791.

Our next Neighbors Serving Neighbors Personal Care collection will be September 29th and 30th. While shopping for your own toiletries, why not throw a couple more in your basket to help our neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity!

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast Sunday, September 30, 2018, Benefiting Knights of Columbus Charity Fund. 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Banquet Hall in the West Campus Elementary School Building. Come and enjoy a delicious breakfast of all-you-can-eat pancakes with fruit toppings and sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, milk and coffee. A great meal and a great cause. Cost: Family rate is $25.00 OR Twelve and older are only $6.00 and Five to eleven years are $3.00. Four years and under are free!

World Mission Sunday is October 20/21 The theme for this year’s Mission Sunday is “Through Youth to the World: Voices for Mission.” World Mission Sunday is truly a global effort for the entire Church. All Catholics of the world join into one community of faith to provide for the building up of over one thousand local churches in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, an area that covers more than half of the territory of the globe. Through the work of these churches and their witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience God’s love and mercy, His hope, and peace.

Join us for this 8-week Bible Study “Draw your strength from the Lord and from His mighty power. Put on the armor of God.” Ephesians 6:10-11(a) Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts that we as Christians are given in the Church. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into the family of God, and reveals how God’s great love for us can transform our daily lives. Ephesians will enrich your faith and show you how to live it out. This letter has been called the “crown and climax” of Pauline thought. Bible Study that will be offered on Tuesday evenings (7:00-8:30 p.m.) and Wednesday mornings (9:30-11:00 a.m.) beginning September 25/26 in the East Campus Meeting Rooms. The cost for the workbook is $13.00, and payment may be made at the first session when the book is distributed. Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) will begin again on September 30, 2018, during the 9:30 Mass. Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is for children ages 5-7. Just before the Liturgy of the Word, children will be invited to come forward and go with adult facilitators into the Daily Mass Chapel to hear and process the readings at their level. What is The Marriage Course? The Marriage Course was developed in 1996 by Nicky and Sila Lee for couples looking for practical support to strengthen their relationship. Over seven sessions, the course will help you to: Understand each other’s needs Communicate more effectively Grow closer by learning methods to resolve conflict Recover from the ways you may have hurt each other Recognize how your upbringing affects your relationship Improve relationships with parents and in-laws Develop greater sexual intimacy Discover each other’s “love language” and much, much more… The Marriage Course is for couples who are seeking to strengthen their relationship. It offers a lifetime of practical ideas and tools to help keep your relationship strong, and is based on Christian principles, but designed for all couples with or without a church background. This program will be offered at Saint Joseph Parish, beginning October 12th. The 7 sessions will be held on Friday evenings from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at our East Campus Meeting Rooms. Saint Vincent de Paul Food Collection: Food Collection for the poor The Saint Vincent De Paul Society’s yearly food collection is this weekend, September 22/23. Please return the bags, given out last weekend, filled with nonperishable food items to the food collection truck that is in the church parking lot before and after all Masses. “The poor you will always have with you and you can help them anytime you want” Mark 14:7.

Coat and Blanket Collection Please save your gently used blankets and child-sized coats for the collection drive by the Knights of Columbus and Saint Vincent de Paul. We will be available to receive these items before and after every Mass the weekend of October 27th and 28th. Our collection truck will be in the church parking lot between the church and school. As you buy new coats for your school-age children, please consider donating your used coats to this very worthy cause. We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your support in advance!

Toledo Symphony Christmas Concert in Saint Joseph Church We are pleased to announce that Grammy-nominated Sara Jobin will conduct the Toledo Symphony in our annual neighborhood Christmas concert. Anointing of the Sick: On Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the 4:30 PM Mass, Saint Joseph Parish will celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The Sacrament of Anointing is the proper sacrament for those people whose health is impaired by chronic illness, age or a weakened condition. It is also for those people who are about to undergo tests or surgery. The reception of the sacrament is not only a privilege but also a sign of support and concern shown by the Christian community for its members who are ill. Pews and chairs will be reserved for those people who will be receiving the sacrament. When you arrive at Church, please come to the front pews. If you are not able to come to Church on your own, ask a family member, neighbor or friend to bring you. If you are unable to attend and would like to receive the sacrament at home, please call Laurie at the Parish Office, 419-885-5791.

40 Days for Life Campaign Begins – Wednesday, September 26, 2018, Catholic Charities is hosting the ecumenical 40 Days for Life campaign in Northwest Ohio from Wednesday, September 26 – Sunday, November 4. You can participate in three ways: prayer and fasting, community outreach and peaceful vigil.
