JOSEPH’S MEALS Saturday and Sunday, June 16th and 17th, is the sign-up weekend for anyone interested in helping with our monthly parish food donation to the Helping Hands of St. Louis Soup Kitchen. Tables are in the back and front of the church with lists of various items that are needed. Please sign up to make a pasta dish or to provide other foods or supplies. The drop-off point for these items will be on the East Campus, off of Ravine Drive on Wednesday morning, June 20th, between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. If you would like to help but can’t make this time frame, please contact Larry or Deb Gaster at 419-841-3724. Blest Art will be visiting our parish on behalf of the Christian families in Bethlehem, Palestine. Our mission is to support those families in the Holy Land. When Blest Art visits our parish, they will have hand-carved nativity sets, statues, crosses, rosaries, and many other pieces of beautiful olive wood art. St. Joseph’s Respect Life Ministry’s 2018 Mother’s Day Baby Bottle Campaign! Respect Life Mother’s Day Baby Bottle Campaign began Mother’s Day weekend, May 12th and 13th. The donations, as in the past, go to support Heartbeat and The Pregnancy Center who support women with unplanned pregnancies. These organizations offer pregnancy tests, ultrasound, support, counseling, and education to assist mothers, fathers, and their babies. Please fill the bottles with cash and checks. The bottles can be brought back anytime between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day weekend. There will be a box in the back of the church to put the bottles in or you may take them to the Parish Center. Thank you in advance for your continued support of mothers and their babies.

Students Recycle for the Ronald McDonald House Summer is still time to save those pop tabs! Students and parishioners are encouraged to turn in all donations of pop tabs to the main office on either school campus throughout the school year. Every year, hundreds of pounds of pop tabs are collected by students which helps keep the pantry stocked at the Ronald McDonald House for families who travel to Toledo for their children’s medical care. Please go to the St. Joseph website and it can all be done online… https://www.stjoesylvania.org/_modules/form.php?id=26 This is for children in 1st thru 8th grade, and if you are registering for Religious Education, it is in anticipation of the school year they are going into for fall 2018. If they are currently a Kindergartner, they will be registered for a 1st-grade program. Please remember that if your children would like to play CYO sports, they must either attend a Catholic school or attend a Religious Education program. Donations & Volunteers Needed! Helping Hands of St. Louis 5th Annual Shoe Fest – Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 Helping Hands of St. Louis, a ministry of Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, seeks donations of NEW shoes and socks, (toddler size 10 up to youth size 8), and school supplies to start their new school year off on the right foot! Needed school supplies include: paper, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, glue sticks, dry erase markers and backpacks. Donations can be dropped off at the 2nd fl oor Helping Hands Offi ce, 443 Sixth Street, Toledo, OH, preferably by Thursday, August 3 for sorting, though they will be gratefully received through Friday, August 10. Please clearly mark donations are for the Shoe Fest. Churches, service groups and businesses interested in donating items are asked to please contact Sue Shrewsbery, Director of Helping Hands of St. Louis, at 419-691-0613, ext. 2; email sshrewsbery@toledodiocese.org. Volunteers are needed to set up the event on Friday, August 10, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., and during the Shoe Fest on Saturday, August 11, from 7:30 a.m.-Noon. This is a great youth ministry opportunity for middle school and high school kids and families to serve together. We need volunteers to wash feet, change water, hand out shoes, socks and school supplies, run the games and help with registration.
