Pray for the Nations

DoveCrossDear Fellow Disciples,

In Acts 1:8 we read: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Two things about this verse:

1. The commission given to the early church is only in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is not something we can accomplish on our own.

2. This commission is for each one of us and extends to the ends of the earth, to people of every tribe, nation and language.

This week I’d like you to pray for a nation of the world and commit to pray for that nation all summer. Learn more about that country, its language and its people. Then keep praying.

If you need help choosing a country, we’ll have prayer resources from the ministry The Voice of the Martyrs available on the tables outside the offices all week. They’re free!

Persevering in Prayer,

Memory Verse for Q2: April, May and June
Romans 12:12Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.

P.S. This coming Sunday (May 20) is Pentecost. One way you can celebrate with us is by finding a nation of the world you will be praying for in the coming year
