The Toledo YES Project – The Toledo Yes Project is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that brings together high school students from around the Toledo area for a Catholic service retreat. During this retreat, students complete community service projects for local organizations and homeowners. Service projects range from painting houses to cleaning and organizing, to gardening. This year, St. Patrick of Heatherdowns is hosting this project from July 18-July 21. Each year, there are between 140-150 high school students and 60-80 adults serving others during the day and doing spiritual and social activities in the evening. Join us for a five-week study on the Rosary to be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the East Campus Meeting Rooms. Sessions will be on May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. JOSEPH’S MEALS – Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th is the sign-up weekend for anyone interested in helping with our monthly, parish food donation to the Helping Hands of St. Louis Soup Kitchen. Tables will be in the back and front of the church with lists of various items that are needed. Please sign up to make a pasta dish or to provide other foods or supplies. The dropoff point for these items will be on the East Campus, off Ravine Road, on Wednesday, April 18th between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. If you would like to help but can’t make this time frame, please contact Larry or Deb Gaster at 419-841-3724. Helping Hands of St. Louis – The Helping Hands of St. Louis Soup Kitchen is located on 6th Street on the East Side of Toledo. We prepare, serve and clean up for the lunch on the 2nd Friday of every month. We also do the Christmas meal for the Kitchen. Feed My Sheep Garden St. Joseph has a vegetable garden on the grounds near the Wurzel Family Center. Our gardener volunteers plant and tend the garden and then harvest and deliver the vegetables to various community centers throughout the area. Many opportunities throughout the season to help give back to our communities! Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast This Sunday, April 15 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Banquet Hall in the Elementary School. Diocesan Jail & Prison Ministry Gathering. On Saturday, April 28, Catholic Charities is hosting a Diocesan Jail & Prison Ministry Gathering at St. Michael the Archangel Auditorium, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, OH. This event is open to anyone currently involved with or interested in volunteering for this Catholic Charities ministry. Two ex-inmates will give witness talks on life in prison and be reintegrating into society. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The event runs from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The cost is $20.00 and includes morning refreshments and lunch.
