HeART Gallery at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (428 N. Erie Street, Toledo) is having a unique exhibit this spring. “Journey in Their Shoes”, from March 15-17, is an exhibit of shoes on loan from everyday Toledo folks. Each donor is invited to write four sentences that describe where these shoes have taken them on their journey. By reading the short narratives accompanying each pair of shoes, visitors will engage in uplifting moments of challenge, share the heartache of being forced to leave one’s home, experience stories of inner strength, successes, accomplishments, isolation, regret and exuberant joy. These stories will move you and make you laugh, in a very memorable gallery exhibit that crosses and connects the diversity in our greater Toledo area. Individuals willing to loan a pair of their shoes, should email kate@stpaulstoledo.org. Accompanying the exhibit are black and white photos by “Toledo street photographer” James Dickerson.
