The Salvation Army – Tools for School
Applications accepted July 19 and 20
Toledo, OH (July 17, 2017) – It is time to start thinking about going back to school. If you are a parent and are concerned about getting school supplies for your child local organizations formed Class Act Lucas County to make it easier for you this year. Lucas County residents can simply call 2-1-1; after answering a few questions the operator will help you find the best way to receive school supplies for your child.
One of the organizations providing backpacks is The Salvation Army. They are accepting applications this week, July 19 and 20 from 9:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-3:00pm. The Salvation Army is encouraging parents to call 2-1-1 first to make sure another organization isn’t providing backpacks at their school or in their area code. If you are referred to The Salvation Army you will need to bring with you a photo ID, proof of address and birth certificates for all school aged children you are applying for.
The Salvation Army also has Tools for School programs in Ottawa and Wood County; Ottawa County residents can contact the Port Clinton Salvation Army service center at (419) 732-2769 and Wood County residents can contact the Bowling Green Salvation Army service center at (419) 352-5918.
