The ordination of Reverend Ruby Radford will be 4 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Historic Third Baptist Church, 402 Pinewood at Division Street.
She has an Associate of Arts degree in Business Communications from Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, OH; Human Relations, BS; Educational Technology and Human Resources Training and Development, M.E., University of Toledo; and Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Master of Family Ministry.
In 2003, a certificate of recognition for Community Service and Contributions in the area of Poetry and Women’s History from the National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., Toledo Club. She has spent many hours designing and facilitating workshops on various topics for the Toledo Diocese, Suitably Attired, Battered Women’s Shelter, various churches, sororities and schools. She is truly gifted. She is an author and has published two books of poetry: “I Just Want to Help, and “When the Light Shines Through,” a CD, “Don’t Just Exist, Live.” and two books for professionals: “Teaching…But Nobody is Learning: Create a Teachable Moment” & “Remember Me…I Am the Customer.” In 2008, she designed and taught a 6 week course, “Introduction to Theology,” to the church community.
The ordination is free and open to the public.
