Ex 33:18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
Moses had a strong desire to know God on a personal level. He saw the power of God as the Lord delivered Israel out of the clutches of Pharaoh and Egypt. Moses saw the miracles the signs and the wonders that God worked in Eypgt and in the desert, He saw the fire of God the heard the voice of God and you would figure that would be enough, but not for Moses. Many times we settle just for a few goose bumps maybe a healing here or there, maybe a revelation or a prophecy. But how many real desire to see his glory. I am not talking about in the sweet by and by, I am talking here in the land of the living.
Moses wanted to see the glory of God, so he ask the Lord show me your glory. God answered him and said I will make all my goodness pass before you, and proclaim the name of the Lord. Why did God say I will make all my goodness pass before you. That’s not what Moses had requested. I’ll tell you why because the goodness of the Lord is part of his glory. Has God been good to you have you seen the goodness of the Lord in your life that’s part of his glory.
God said to Moses and I will proclaim the name of the Lord in other word I will proclaim the name of him that owns it all. The word Lord ( Adonai ) means Lord and Owner and it was revealed to Moses how God created the heavens and the earth and everything that exist. By the way did you know that it was Moses that wrote the book of Genesis? God put Moses on the Clift of a Rock and we know that the Rock is Jesus. 1 Cor. 10: 4 Because in only through Jesus we have access to the Father and to his Glory.
God wants to reveal His glory to the church He wants us to see all his goodness as it passes by he wants you to understand how his grace works. God said to Moses I will show grace to whom I will show grace. Jesus said you did not chose me I choose you. John 15: 16
Jesus came to reveal the glory of the father to the believer that’s me and you.
John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Many times we settle for so little when God has so much to offer. The church has become religious full of traditions and rituals but no manifestation of his Glory, Is there any one out there that is crying out like Moses and saying, show me you glory.
In Luke nine we read that Jesus took Peter, James and John to a mountain there he was transfigured before them and the glory of the Lord was revealed to them. They saw Jesus shining like the brighther than the sun. They saw Moses and Elijah, the Saw the glory cloud that followed Moses in the wilderness. When the entered in to the cloud they heard the Fathers voice saying this is my beloved Son hear Him. Luke 9: 28-35
In the glory of the Lord Jesus is revealed and and magnified… (to be continued.)
