Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
There is a hunger and a thirst for the true anointed word of God in these days and the days to come. Dry religion is not going to do it, we need a mighty move of the Spirit of God in our land we need to hear, thus says the Lord.
People want to know what God is saying today, Nations that fear God want to know what He is saying to the nation as a whole. Cities that fear God want to know what God is saying to them as a city. Churches are crying out, what are you saying Lord. Individuals are praying, speak to me Lord. There is a hunger around the world among the people to hear what thus says the Lord. Amos prophesied of the day when there would be a famine, not a famine of bread or thirst of water but of hearing the anointed word of God.
In the Old Testament kings would run to the prophet to get a word from God. They were so God conscious they knew who buttered their bread, they knew that if God was for them who could be against them. They knew where their help came from in time of need, so they would call on a man of God that knew how to hear from God and ask him, what is the Lord saying?
Today we have people that are calling on the Lord. They want to hear from God, they don’t want man’s opinion, they don’t want psychics or astrology, they are hungry for the Living God for a word from God Himself.
David was hungry and thirsty for the Presence and the Power of God, are you one of them that hungers and thirst to hear His voice and to see His glory and his power.
Ps 63: 1. God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2. To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
When a man or a woman desires to be with Jesus and in His presence, they just can’t get enough of the Lord. They hunger for the spiritual Bread and that spiritual Bread is Jesus. When a man or a woman thirst spiritually they are thirsty for the living water which is the Holy Spirit and the presence of God.
Ps 42:1. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. Ps 42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
The Lord has sent a famine and a thirst in the land for God, His word, His presence, His glory. These are the people that just can’t get enough of God. They look like ordinary people but there is an unquenchable fire on the inside of them that nothing can put it out. They are few but they are chosen. They are like a man in the desert where no water is, they cry from their heart Lord send the rain. Dry religion does not do it for them, they want the real deal, they don’t want Jesus’s robe or the grail they want Jesus. Nothing else will do until they experience the Glory and the Power. If you are that person say amen. Pastor Juan Salinas
