On October 6, United Church of God located at 1122 Bronson Avenue (off of Central and Stickney) will host Pastor Gerald Scott. In addition to being a Great Shepard, Pastor Scott is also a sought after Evangelist, Singer/ Recording Artist, and Educator. He will come to us from Doty Road Church of God located in Ferriday, LA. Join us in our 11 am service to hear this powerful man of God.
The Rev. Gerald Scott graduated from Rayville High School, May 1989. He received Certification in Utilities Equipment Repair from the Army Ordinance School, in 1989. Rev. Scott attended Central Texas College, Bamberg, Germany, and 1991 -1992. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, December 2002. He completed a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, August 2006. Rev. Scott is presently pursuing a Doctorate of Theology form the Open Bible Institute and Theological Seminary.
Rev. Scott is married to Carol Scott and they have five children. He is a family man and has served his community as a Special Education teacher for eight years. Rev. Scott is also a Recording Artist and is presently working on his sophomore project. He has served as an Ordained Senior Pastor in the Church of God for Seven and a half years, beginning at the Tollette Church of God of Tollette, Ar. And presently as the Senior Pastor of the Doty Road Church of God in Ferriday, La.
Rev. Scott loves the word of God and He loves the people of God and is humbled to be a servant of God in whatever capacity is afforded him. He lives life by the motto, “Holding to God’s Unchanging Hand”.
