Heartbeat of Toledo Hopes to Raise $30,000 at Second Annual “Crawl, Stroll, & Walk”

ScreenShot029Registration is currently underway for Heartbeat’s second annual “Crawl, Stroll, and Walk for
Heartbeat” planned for Saturday, September 14 2013, at the campus of Lourdes University. Both team and individual walkers are encouraged to participate.

 


Individuals and teams wishing to join in the two-mile walk can go online to http://www.ministrysync.com/event/website/home/?e=5358 both register and create a giving page. “Our walkers can personalize their page to share why they are walking,” notes Pat Todak, Heartbeat’s executive director. “Many of our walkers choose to walk in honor or memory of their mom or perhaps their children.”
The giving page can be linked to a person’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to let friends and families know you are walking, Mrs. Todak adds. “We hope to raise $30,000 at this year’s walk.” Participants can also just come on the morning of the Walk to sign up. Registration is free and begins at 8:30 a.m. with the walk starting at 9. Individuals who raise at least $200 will be given a free t- shirt honoring their outstanding efforts.

 

The walk will be accompanied by a fun-filled morning of activities including music, food, clowns, and face painting. New this year will be awards recognizing teams for their creative efforts in dress and team name as well as awards for team and individuals who raise the most money for Heartbeat. Proceeds from the walk will help Heartbeat serve women facing unplanned pregnancies as well as moms, dads, and babies in need.  Heartbeat services include pregnancy tests with ultrasound confirmation, options counseling, prenatal, parenting and relationship smarts classes. Class participants can earn free baby items for every lesson they complete. All services are free and confidential.
