Want to make the world better but don’t know how?

SONY DSCTake a lesson from these amazing kids.

Anyone has the power to save the world.

“Dear fellow human beings, are we doing the best we can do, or can we do a little bit more to create a better world?”

This is a question we should all be asking ourselves every so often. It’s also part of a pledge written by 10 incredibly socially conscious individuals who all happen to be under the age of 18.

And they’re not just any ordinary group of kids. They were named the 2016 Hasbro Community Action Heroes, because of the exemplary volunteer work they’ve done for their local and/or global community.

Treasure Within

SONY DSCA man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves, he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!  Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure.  He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away! Continue reading »

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND………..

SONY DSCWelcome to another beautiful day in paradise. Look with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.

One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pinto was still sputtering when he approached her.

Look With Eyes Of The Soul And See Beauty In Others

SONY DSCWelcome to another day in paradise. Look with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.
There are many problems, negative attitudes and distressing situations in our country now and it doesn’t look like it will get any better soon. Oh but, will it? Could it? Even though we can’t directly change our government leaders, our military leaders or our corporate leaders, we can affect the people around us. We can and do influence all those whose lives we touch each and every day. Thus we can make our world a better place.

god-is-so-good-title1Good Day Everyone! Welcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Thanks for being my neighbor and making our neighborhood beautiful.

One person can make a difference. YOU can make a difference.

There’s the story of A Kid Named Kyle. Kyle was a nerdy kid who was bullied. One Friday he cleaned out his locker and took all of his books home. While walking home the bullies hit him and kicked him. He fell down, his glasses went flying landing in the wet grass. A fellow student came over and helped him pick everything up and walked home with him. They talked and his helper invited him to play football with some neighbor kids. They became friends. They remained friends all through school. Kyle was the valedictorian of their class. In his speech, he told the story of the day he and his friend met. He had cleaned out his locker and took all of his books with him that day because that weekend he was going to commit suicide. Because his friend helped him that day he didn’t do it. Be Postive…Be Grateful…Be Giving

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Thanks for being my neighbor and making our neighborhood beautiful.  Today I want to share with you something that I have learned and try to live out.

god-is-so-good-title1For a richer, fuller life . . .

          1 Be Positive

          2 Be Grateful

          3 Be Giving

Be Positive – happy, smiling, knowing everything will be OK – No Negativity – look for the positive, the good in everything and everyone.

Be Grateful – have an attitude of gratitude, count your blessings every day, know that you are blessed, be grateful for the people in your life, in your world, help others see their blessings. Say ‘thank you’ every day to everyone who does anything for you.

Be Giving – sharing, give to others your time, your talent, gifts, compliments, favors, whatever you have, sympathy, empathy, listening ear, shoulder to cry on, etc. Help everyone you can, in any way you can, as much as you can, for as long as you can.

Live this way for a richer, fuller and happier life. Try it. Those around you will be blessed.    Oh, and so will you.Peace, Terry

Mother’s Day by Terry McCauley

Happy-Mothers-Day-2016-Photos-for-FBGood Morning Everyone!
Welcome to another beautiful day in paradise. Look with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.
Sunday (May 14) is Mothers Day, a day that is set aside to honor and thank our Mother and all Mothers including Grandmothers, Step Mothers, and Foster Mothers. Mothers are the embodiment of life and love. They give life, nourish life and share life all with love. So yes, let’s thank our Mothers and tell them we love them on Sunday and every day. Even if they have passed on to the next life, tell them. They will hear you. They will know.
Also please note that Saturday (May 13) is Birth Mothers Day. Birth Mothers should be remembered and thanked too. Birth Mothers are mothers who placed their child for adoption. They gave life to someone and then made the decision to let that life, their child, be nourished and loved by others. I can’t imagine how difficult that decision would be. But they chose LIFE! And that’s a good thing. I imagine that there could be times when they would question: Why did I do this? Or, Did I do the right thing? So if you know a Birth Mother may I suggest that on Saturday you affirm her and her decision. Birth Mothers are the embodiment of life and love too.

POSITIVE, UPLIFTING THOUGHT

SONY DSCMy thoughts this weekend focused on things I learned from my Dad. He taught me to see that people are basically good by nature. He said you will usually get what you expect from people so expect the best. Trust others first if you want to be trusted. Respect others until they give you a reason not to trust them. If you want help, help others. If you want to be loved, love yourself and love others.
Does this sound familiar? Maybe you heard it this way: Treat others the way you want to be treated, or “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you”. Do you remember who gave us this “golden rule”? Yes, it was Jesus.
So here is a suggestion: try living this way and see what happens:
Smile first, say hello first, trust people, respect people, always say thank you, help people, be understanding and accepting of people, love life and love people.
I predict that all of the above will came back to you. Isn’t that a happy, positively uplifting thought?
Have a really wonderful week.
Peace,
Terry

LanternGood Morning Everyone! Welcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood. And it’s beautiful because you’re my neighbor and you’re part of it.
You are the Light of the World
“To the world you might just be another person, but to one person you may be the whole world.”
D. L. Moody told the story of a man crossing the Atlantic by ship. One night, as he was confined to his cabin due to seasickness, he heard the cry, “Man overboard!” He felt that there was nothing he could do to help, but he said to himself, “I can at least put my lantern in the porthole.” He struggled to his feet and hung the light so it would shine out into the darkness.
The next day he learned that the person had been rescued and had told others, “I was going down in the dark night for the last time when someone put a light in a porthole. As it shone on my hand, a sailor in a lifeboat grabbed it and pulled me in.”
God has chosen us to reach out and light up lives. No matter how small or insignificant you may feel, you are not. You are significant and important. You are the Light of the World.
Whose life will you light up this week?
Peace,
Terry

Are We Worthy? Part III

This is Part Three of a three part series. This question is an important one, perhaps the most important question. How each of us answers this question affects not only ourselves, but all those whose lives we touch, our churches, our society and yes, the world.Worth3
