BE THE FIRST TO KNOW: ONLINE COLA NOTICES

We are constantly expanding our online services to give you freedom and control when doing business with us. Our new online cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) notices are another example of our commitment in this area. Soon, you’ll be the first to know your new benefit amount! Later this year, we will post the Social Security COLA notices online for retirement, survivors, and disability beneficiaries with amy Social Security account. The COLA announcement usually occurs in October, but final benefit amounts won’t be calculated and available until December, when we send COLA notices that contain the benefit amount for the next calendar year.

These COLA notices will now be available to view and save via the Message Center inside my Social Security. The Message Center is a secure, convenient portal where you can receive sensitive communications we don’t send through email or text.

This year, you will still receive your COLA notice by mail. In the future, you will be able to choose whether you receive your notice online instead of on paper.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Greater Toledo Right to Life is looking for three to four teams of two individuals to deploy signs around Toledo. This stealth marketing campaign is designed to create awareness of horrific conditions at Toledo’s last abortion mill and to influence ProMedica’s Board to rescind the Transfer Agreement with Capital Care Network of Toledo. Will you volunteer?

Volunteers need to be:
Extremely Dependable
Highly Mobile
Adventurist/Risk Takers
The volunteers for this project play a vital role in helping to get our message out to influence public opinion and do what the billboard companies serving Toledo refused to allow us to do. Time is short as ProMedica is scheduled to revisit the decision they made last February very soon. We have very visible signs that need to be placed in high traffic areas around Toledo. We need 3 to 4 deployment teams ASAP.

Haskins Community Church News

church-newsletter-clipart-20Video Series: “He’s Still Got the Whole World in His Hands.” 3 Part Video/Study by Andy Stanley from North Point Church Held after worship from 11:30-12:30 on October 21, October 28, and November 4. How do we remain hopeful in a world that seems hopelessly broken? How do we continue to trust a God that seems conspicuously absent? How do we find peace in a world that is spinning out of control? If you’ve ever asked questions like these, you’re not alone . . . and you’re not the first. Uncertainty is nothing new. And the uncertainty we face today is no different from the uncertainty faced by the men and women of the Bible. And like them, we are left to question God’s faithfulness, his presence, his concern. In this 3-part series, we’re reminded that . . . He’s Still Got the Whole World in His Hands. You may attend just one session, but attendance at all three is highly recommended! Friends from the community are encouraged and welcome!

Thought for the week

SONY DSCWelcome to another beautiful day in paradise. Look with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.
“We all come here from the same root, but the leaves are all different.”

–John Fire Lame Deer, LAKOTA

We all come from one Great Spirit but we are all different and unique. Nothing in the Great Creation has a twin that is identical. Even children that are twins are different. Every single person is extremely special and unique. Each person has a purpose and reason why they are on the Earth. Just like every leaf on a tree is different, each one is needed to make the tree look like it does. No leaf is better or worse than the other—all leaves are of equal worth and belong on the tree. It is the same with human beings. We each belong here and do things that will affect the great whole.
