By Erin Thompson, Social Security Public Affairs Specialist in Toledo, OH

Tax time is fast approaching. Preparing your documents can seem overwhelming. Some forms and paperwork might be difficult to track down. Social Security has made it easy to track down your annual Benefit Statement. An SSA-1099, or your annual Benefit Statement, is a tax form Social Security mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. It shows the total amount of benefits received from Social Security in the previous year so people know how much Social Security income to report to the IRS on their tax return. You should receive your SSA-1099 by January 31, 2017. Continue reading »

Emmanuel Baptist Church One Day Seminar – Grief Turned to Hope

griefEmmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio was blessed this September to have Dr Bob Kellemen lead through Scriptures full of Hope, Promise and Truth. Dr Kellemen is the Founder and CEO of RPM Ministries and an author and speaker. Dr Kellemen’s book, God’s Healing for Life’s Losses: How to Find Hope When You’re Hurting, was the basis of the seminar. He shared his own loss experiences as well as had the attendees turn and share with one another in small group sessions throughout the day. The sharing allowed each person a chance to open up about their own losses, answer some poignant questions from Dr. Kellemen’s notes, as well as bond with one another in Christian love. Q&A time at the end allowed for deeper dialogue and more digging into Scripture, as well as personal testimonies given by those that felt led to share. If you haven’t had a chance to attend one of his seminars, we recommend his book or click the RPM link above to request more information.

Emmanuel Baptist Church is committed to biblical counseling to our community and this seminar is just one of the ways we are sharing the gospel. We also offer free biblical counseling to the community once a week. If you know of someone in our area that could be helped through our ministry, please contact Emmanuel Baptist Church by phone 419.473.3280, email ebc@emmanuelbaptist.com or through our Website www.emmanuelbaptist.com.grief2

We not only want to serve our own people and community, but also other churches as well. One of the ways is by providing sound biblical teaching through training. We have two opportunities you could mark your calendars for: Martha Peace Renew Conference for women (click here for more information), coming up this November 4-5, 2016; Paul Tripp October 20-21, 2017.grief4

Dr. Bob is currently working on his first published book, “The New Normal” outlining the cultural, theological and societal changes in our culture and churches today.
