School Supply Drive
Toledo, OH (July 23, 2018) – The Salvation Army just finished taking applications for their Tools for School program. Over 160 households applied to receive backpacks and schools supplies. Now The Salvation Army needs your help as they finish their collection drive. There is one week left to donate to the annual Tools for School drive which will end July 27th. By providing basic school supplies and a new backpack The Salvation Army hopes to even the playing field for children who may not otherwise be able to start school with the tools they need to succeed throughout the school year. Respect Life Change for Life Baby Bottle Campaign Thank you for your support of the Baby Bottle Campaign again this year! Your generosity and compassion for others is so inspiring. $5,343.46 has been collected to date. It is amazing how a small amount of “change” can make such a big difference. The money will be used to buy Kroger gift cards which will be given to Heartbeat and the Pregnancy Center. They will be used to purchase diapers, wipes and other items needed by their clients and their babies.
Volleyball Open Gym for girls in grades 3-8. Open gym for the upcoming volleyball season will begin the 2nd week in July. Tuesdays beginning July 10th: 5:00-6:00 p.m. – 3rd grade 6:00-7:00 p.m. – 5th grade 7:00-8:00 p.m. – 7th grade Thursdays beginning July 12th: 5:00-6:00 p.m. – 4th grade 6:00-7:00 p.m. – 6th grade 7:00-8:00 p.m. – 8th grade Location: East Campus Gym Prerequisites: Students must complete an online registration, including an Emergency Medical Authorization, and a CYO Athletic Contract signed by their physician before they may participate. Team evaluations and player placements and uniform fittings will take place the last week in July/first week in August. Family Camp Weekend Retreat, August 3-5, is looking for volunteers over age 16 to assist children and adults with developmental disabilities. The weekend is filled with summer camp activities for children and their parents in a supportive and faith-filled environment. YOUR participation will make Family Camp a meaningful experience for a family and for you! Under the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program, a child from birth to age 18 may receive monthly payments based on disability or blindness if: the child has an impairment or combination of impairments that meet the definition of disability for children, and the income and resources of the parents and the child are within the allowed limits. Every day we make choices. In fact every hour, every minute, and even every second we make choices. The choices we make determine what kind of day we will have and even what kind of life we will have. So the choices we make are very important.I believe we all want to have a good day, a day that goes smoothly without stress. We want a day filled with good times and good people. We look forward to days filled with joy and happiness.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? Too good to be true? NO, it’s not too good to be true. It all depends on the choices we make. And, of course, the first choice we make is the most important choice. It’s the choice that determines what kind of morning, afternoon, day, week, even life we will have.
To have the kind of days and life described above we simply need to choose GRATITUDE. Choose to see all the blessings in your life. Choose to find the positive in every situation. Gratitude is the best attitude.
