Evening Prayer During Advent Vespers (Evening Prayer) will take place in Church on December 10, and December 17th from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. All parishioners are invited to this public prayer as a way of celebrating this seasonal time of expectation and preparing us for the joyful coming of our Lord, Jesus. Vespers is one of the prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours – the public prayer of the Church for praising God and sanctifying the day. Please join us as we give thanks for the blessings of the day! All Catholics are called to this prayer.

Youth Suicide on the Rise

I recently attended a conference in Columbus with multiple behavioral healthcare providers from across Ohio. During the initial Keynote Address, Director Lori Criss from the Ohio Department of Mental health and Addiction clearly outlined Governor DeWine’s plan to address mental health and addiction for Ohioans. Of particular concern was the growing numbers of Suicide in Ohio, especially among youth. While I had experienced some of this disturbing trend in parts of northwest Ohio, the National picture was less clear.

Dear Fellow Parish Bulletin Reps:  December is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, which is ordinarily celebrated on December 8, but since it falls on a Sunday, the feast has been transferred to December 9.  The Holy Father’s Intentions for the Month of December, 2019:  For a life of ‘prayer’:  We pray that our personal relationship with Jesus Christ be nourished by the Word of God and a life of prayer.
